Back in March we took at trip to Upstate New York for a skiing weekend. This was my first trip outside of the city since moving here in November and my first time skiing! We took the NYC Snow Bus three hours out of the city towards the mountains. We had a combination of our own warm clothes and rented ski pants and jackets. I definitely recommend getting proper gloves and a ski mask. I decided to go with my own leather gloves and big sunglasses but they didn’t do much to protect me from the -12 temperatures. You rent your helmet, boots and skis once you get there and hit the slopes.
Skiing is hard! Especially for someone as clumsy as me. After falling repeatedly nearly all day I eventually got the hang of it along with a lot of bruises. We hard an instructor for around an hour who had to follow me down the slopes to pick me up as I went along, at one stage! We stayed in a cute AirBnB that night and spent Sunday snow tubing down the slopes which I found alot easier to master!
I would definitely recommend a trip to Upstate New York for some skiing and Hunter Mountain was a great choice. Hopefully, you’ll do better than I did at the actual skiing.
Thanks for Reading.
